I describe the K1000, K2000 Appliances as basically Altiris on steroids. We were able to do everything we could with Altiris, but the thing is it was so much easier.

k2000_deployment_info_conf file is not copied in a sysprepped image

Description

As an automatic postinstallation task in Windows the k2000_deployment_info.conf file should get copied to %allusersprofile%\Dell\KACE\k2000_deployment_info.conf.

Cause

The postinstallation task to copy the file fails to run and the file is in C:\Kace.

Solution

If the k2000_deployment_info.conf file is not copied, you can download and import the task below and add it to your deployments.

This package was exported by support, and can be imported into your K2000 under Settings | Package Management | Import K2000 Packages. From the choose action drop down menu select "Upload package for import..." Then browse to the file .pkg file of download and select it. Go to Deployments | System Images and go into the details page of the image you wish to modify. You will find the post install task, "Inventory.conf file" This can be be placed in any order under postinstall tasks.

Resolved Issue

This issue has been resolved in 3.5.76460. KACE recommends upgrading to this version for all customers.
