Within hours or less of deploying the Dell KACE Appliance we were getting valuable data back, particularly the inventory and asset.

Managed Installation isn't installing software on Mac computers

Create a zip file to deploy an application to a Mac-platform workstation via Managed Installation. You can see that the file is being downloaded to the Downloads folder on the Mac, but it never installs.

Here are the following items to verify if the software item is not being installed:

-Confirm that the correct Operating System has been selected in the Software Inventory Item

-Confirm that the filenames contain .app or .pkg extensions

The K1000 Aplliance server supports the installation of .app and .pkg file extensions on the Mac-platform. However, some files may contain .mpkg (multi-package) extensions in their filenames. Simply rename the .mpkg file to a .pkg file within the zip file and the Managed Installation will successfully occur on the target Mac workstation during the next Inventory interval.
