During KPE booting there are times when command window will appear rather than the deployment window. The command window displays....
The reason is that during the KPE scripted install the script has to map a drive to the Y:\ (\\ikbox\peinst). Occasionally, the process times out and or is not completed before the call to Y:\ from the batch file is run.
To test this try typing T:\ then enter. If the T:\ is not there
Typing in "startnet" from that window will start the process over again. It should connect
If this does not work then you might have to modify your drivers on the CD.
When you are booting from CD you don't have to use RIS drivers and can use generally XP drivers. You can copy the contents of the CD to your computer and add drives in the following way.
All inf file go in i386\inf. All sys files go in i386\system32\drivers. All other support files for the drivers such as din, cat and other go in i386\system32.
