Virtualization and the Mid-Market: A Survey of Technology Professionals
Introduction
For corporate IT groups looking to reduce costs, virtualization is frequently at the top of the list of options. It is almost impossible
to discuss general trends in enterprise computing without somebody mentioning virtualization.
However, the difference between the promise of virtualization technology and the reality of real-life implementations,
particularly among mid-sized companies, is not always clear.
The following report is based on a survey of 519 IT professionals conducted in October 2008. The goal of the survey was to gather data about the current adoption of virtualization technology among mid-sized companies, defined as companies with 100-5000 employees.
