Taking the Leg-Work out of Systems Provisioning
Best Practices for Reducing Deployment Costs
Introduction
With PC provisioning costs so large, it is no surprise that organizations are putting an increased focus on reducing these costs through automation and process improvements. What is surprising is the dramatic results that efforts to reduce software deployment costs can yield. For instance, Gartner estimates that organizations can save $578 per PC, while EMA estimates that automation can cut deployment time in half.
This white paper will examine the current PC provisioning challenges facing organizations, and how traditional approaches using disk imaging and scripts are not able to significantly reduce deployment costs and complexity. Next, current PC provisioning best practices and their benefits will be discussed. Finally, this paper will illustrate how KBOX appliances can be used to implement these best practices and fully automate systems deployment.
