Built on the site of the Battle of Franklin in Tennessee, Battle Ground Academy's small IT department found itself in a daily skirmish with time and budget issues while managing the hundreds of computer end-points spread across the campus.

Northwestern Memorial Physicians Group (NMPG) is a multi-site practice of primary care physicians affiliated with Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Like many successful medical group practices, NMPG was seeing tremendous growth in a relatively short period of time. This posed challenges for the small IT team, as they were having trouble keeping up with the organization’s growth.

Established in 1918, Jordan’s Furniture is committed to providing customers with top-notch service and security. This demands quick and thorough action from Jordan’s IT team, responsible for responding to the daily issues of managing more than 1,100 point-of-sale terminals, warehouse workstations, and desktop and laptop computers throughout the company’s retail, warehouse and corporate offices.

Dexter and Southfield independent day schools teach boys and girls, respectively, in grades K through twelve. Founded in Brookline, Massachusetts in 1926, the schools have approximately 750 students across a twelve building campus. The IT team consists of two full-time and one part-time employee who manage 500 desktop and laptop computers, a dozen servers and three computer-based learning labs.

Portland Community College (PCC) is one of the largest community colleges in the United States, serving approximately 88,200 full- and part-time students in the Portland, Oregon metropolitan area. PCC has three comprehensive campuses, five workforce training and education centers, and 200 community locations. The IT team, consisting of 125 professionals, supports a broad range of IT including support and management of PCs, datacenters, applications, telecommunications, and audio/video infrastructure.

Based in Liverpool, Royal Liver has an ongoing commitment to diminishing environmental impact and continuing to provide customers with top-notch service and security. This multi-faceted approach demands the most from Royal Liver’s IT team in responding to the management issues of more than 700 desktop and laptop computers in the company’s Liverpool and Dublin offices.

Holmesdale Technology College is a secondary school that serves more than 850 students ages 11 to 18. A three-person IT staff supports the 1,000 computer users on the campus, including students, faculty and staff. While the college boasts some of the latest computer technologies, the support team felt like ancient Romans when it came time to deploy new software. They walked around on foot and performed their tasks by hand. There had to be an easy way to automate software deployment and IT inventory tracking.

The City of Franklin, Tennessee was founded in 1799 and was named after Benjamin Franklin. With more than 46,000 residents, it is the 10th largest city in Tennessee and the fastest growing. Technology has to keep pace with this growth.

The investment banking professionals at Wellington manage more than 30,000 client accounts. A nine-person staff, including four people on dedicated help desk and two custom application developers, supports all of IT.

Founded in 2000, Renovis is a biopharmaceutical company with a primary focus on the discovery, development and commercialization of drugs to treat neurological diseases and disorders. A five-person IT team supports more than 100 employees in the South San Francisco headquarters office, mostly scientists and researchers.

Established in 1950, Ropers, Majeski, Kohn & Bentley is a full service law firm with more than 125 attorneys working from four offices in California and one in New York.

Holland Company LP is the world leader in flash butt welding systems. They also build rail equipment, perform track testing, manufacture components for rail cars, and provide "turn-key" solutions for crane systems.
