Organizational Management

Partitioning management scope for effective operations

Organizations often find that IT operations are best aligned to geographic regions, business units or service areas across their environment. KBOX Organizational Management allows administrators to define management domains based on the desired scope of device control for effective management in decentralized IT environments. For these decentralized IT organizations, the partitioned “Organizations” in the KBOX allow them to provide each region, business unit, or service area their own logical KBOX environment. Each logical environment is isolated and protected from the other logical KBOX environments, all using a single physical KBOX appliance. However, KBOX Organizations also provide authorized administrators a global view across all Organizations for administration and reporting.

System Organization

Multiple organizations can be set up with machine and LDAP filters to provide KBOX functionality for separate groups of devices within the chassis of a single KBOX. Each organization is supported by its own database, with separate users roles, permissions and passwords which ensures that only authorized administrators have access to designated machines. KBOX settings can be controlled at an organizational level to provide the flexibility to prioritize task completion on certain organizations if desired.

Consolidated Reports

Often management reporting and purchasing departments need visibility into the overall status of IT across multiple organizations. The KBOX provides aggregate asset tracking across configured organizational partitions. Central administrators can get access to aggregate reports of software titles, software compliance and software not used across all Organizations configured on the KBOX, allowing them to easily complete compliance and license harvesting activities.

Management Resources

The KBOX makes it easy to set up software installations, scripts and reports for use in normal KBOX operations. When these management resources are set up in an individual organization they can be easily shared across any other organizations on the KBOX. This ensures maximum flexibility and productivity.
