How to remove duplicate KUIDs in the K1000 client

For 5.3

  1. On the client machine shutdown the KBOX Management Service (Kace SMMP Management Service)
  2. Go to the Registry using regedit and remove the two following keys: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Software -> Kace

    Remove:
    1. InstallID entry
    2. MachineID entry
  3. Restart the machine and check in again. The K1000 appliance will generate a new keys for client machine.

For 5.1

  1. Go to the Registry using regedit and remove the two following keys:

    Remove:
    1. InstallID entry
    2. MachineID entry

    These keys are found in the following location in the registry:
    • For 32 bit:
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Software -> Dell → Kace
    • For 64 bit:
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Software -> WOW6432Node → Dell → Kace
  2. Restart the Dell Kace Agent service. This should create new KUID entries.
