KACE and King Reserach to Present Results of Industry Survey on Vista Migration Adoption; Offer Alternatives, Best Practices on Feb. 13 Webinar
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. – February 5, 2008 – KACE™, the leading systems management appliance company, in conjunction with King Research, will present a webinar on Wednesday, February 13, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. PT/1:00 p.m. ET on the results of a survey conducted by King Research and sponsored by KACE on IT’s response to Vista migration, as well as adoption alternatives. The webinar, titled "Vista Migration: Alternatives and Best Practices," will delve into the survey results and guide listeners through factors to consider in deciding on a move to Vista – or not. The discussion will also touch on IT professionals’ chief concerns, such as:
- What alternative approaches to Vista are being considered?
- Hints and tips to consider when migrating to Vista.
- Best practices using systems management tools to ease migration to Vista or alternative platforms and minimize expenditure.
Close to 1,000 IT professionals from small, mid-sized, and large organizations took part in the hot-button Vista alternatives survey topic, which found the vast majority of survey respondents were concerned about migrating to Vista. In response to concerns about unwanted complexity to their heterogeneous IT environments, almost half reported they would consider deployment of alternative operating systems in order to avoid the migration to Vista. Of those who consider using alternative operating systems, almost all said it would be beneficial to use a single systems management interface to manage all types of operating systems in their environments.
