I describe the K1000, K2000 Appliances as basically Altiris on steroids. We were able to do everything we could with Altiris, but the thing is it was so much easier.

Letter to KACE Customers

Dear KACE Customer,

I am writing to share with you that this morning Dell Inc.  announced the intent to acquire KACE Networks, Inc.   As you may know, KACE has had a long standing partnership with Dell and this combination offers evidence of how successful that partnership has been.  All KACE employees will become part of a new organization within Dell and will remain focused on providing innovative software appliances to mid-market and public sector customers just like you.

The union of KACE and Dell is a natural fit and one that will benefit existing KACE customers, employees, and the IT management marketplace.  KACE’s innovative appliance-based approach to system management has revolutionized the endpoint management market bringing comprehensive, easy to use and affordable appliances to a market that has long been underserved by the traditional software-only vendors.  Along the way KACE has helped over 1400 customers save valuable time and money managing their PCs and Servers. Dell is committed to expanding these efforts to drive down the overall total costs of computer ownership for its customers.

Increased investment by Dell in systems management – including expanding the KACE operation inside Dell – will put more resources into play to help customers save time and money using KBOX products and, moreover, will provide KACE with global market reach and added resources to increase KBOX product innovation and customer support.  That means that KACE appliance technology and the supporting organization will be able to expand far faster and evolve more quickly than ever before.  For our customers this translates to increased product development investment, greater international support, and higher levels of support that come with joining forces with one the world’s leading technology companies.

As we embark on a new chapter in KACE’s growth, much will also remain the same.  KBOX appliances will continue to manage heterogeneous environments.  Your support and sales contacts and processes remain unchanged.  All KACE employees are becoming Dell employees and will continue to be based in Mountain View, California or their respective field offices.  Both Marty and I will join in leadership roles in Dell and continue to lead the Dell KACE organization.

It is with sincere gratitude that I thank you for helping KACE reach this milestone in our company’s history.

Regards,
Rob
