Open Virtualization Format Support Brings Added Simplicity and Affordability to Systems Management
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. – June 2, 2009 – KACE™, the leading systems management appliance company, today announced that its award-winning Virtual KBOX™ Appliances now support Open Virtualization Format (OVF), making the appliances even easier to deploy and manage. Opening the doors for even more IT organizations to realize the ease-of-use and cost-savings benefits associated with Virtual KBOX, OVF support allows the appliances to run not only on VMware, but on other leading virtual infrastructures as well.
OVF, an open industry standard developed by the Desktop Management Taskforce (DMTF), was designed to simplify the deployment of virtual machines. OVF enables efficient, flexible and secure distribution of enterprise software, facilitating the mobility of virtual machines, and giving customers vendor and platform independence. The standard is supported by leading virtualization vendors including VMware, Microsoft, Citrix, HP and IBM.

KACE Virtual KBOX appliance pricing starts at $4,500 and includes support for the first 100 nodes.
