This year’s “Take Kontrol” themed-conference saw more than double the attendees of the 2007 event and attracted KBOX users from around the globe. Attendees spent three days engaged in valuable KACE, partner, and peer presentations and discussions, sharing the latest systems management practices with the award-winning KBOX family of appliances.

“As many companies have cancelled their user conferences due to slashed travel budgets, we experienced a record number of attendees this year,” said Rob Meinhardt, CEO and co-founder of KACE. “Our customers push to come to the KACE User Konference because of its tremendous value. Not only do they uncover new tips and tricks for using the KBOX, they walk away with more knowledge on how to save time and money within their organization.”

The conference kicked off on Sunday with an all-day KACE Boot Kamp where customers and partners alike learned the very latest about the KBOX family of appliances. On Monday, keynotes were delivered by Rob Meinhardt and fellow co-founder Marty Kacin, who also serves as CTO. Day three saw a special keynote address from Terrence Cosgrove, senior research analyst for Gartner, who spoke about the latest technologies and trends in IT operations and how medium enterprises can leverage these trends for maximum time and cost savings. The conference also offered nearly a dozen technical breakout sessions, including hands-on and product demonstrations, and real world KBOX customer presentations. Attendees were also given the opportunity to have their most pressing systems management and product questions answered via “Ask the Experts” session panels.

KACE wrapped up its 2008 User Konference by recognizing customers for achievements using KBOX to manage their IT infrastructure. This year’s awards went to:

  • KBOX 1000 System Administrator of the Year: Academy School District 20
  • KBOX 2000 System Administrator of the Year: Occam Networks;
  • KACE User Konference “MVP”: CEI Community Mental Health
